Hebdomen

   Suburb of Constantinople (q.v.) situated on the Sea of Marmara (qq.v.). Located on the Via Egnatia (q.v.), its importance also derived from its imperial palace and harbor, as well as from its splendid churches, including that of St. John the Baptist.
